Asside from the limitless scenic locations, dedicated sets; Cape Town’s full sunnlight, bright blue sky summer days in mid December are thanks to our existence in the Southern Hemisphere. Cape Town remains one of the only places on earth to experience almost zero chance of rainfall during our “production season” months. The full production season extending from September to April each year with a peak between November to Febuary.
Specilised visas to Cape Town for the Stills and Film Industry, means that it’s often cheaper and more productive for many UK, European and American companies to fly out and accommodate their teams or talent in Cape Town, than it is to shoot in their home country. Its not unusual on some sets for YLO to be the only South African component.
